Expert Arborist Reports Across Camden North Ward
North Ward contains some of Camden's strongest current and future development areas.
Following Council's 2023 ward boundary redistribution, North Ward now includes Bringelly, Catherine Field, Cobbitty, Gledswood Hills, Leppington, Oran Park and Rossmore. Oran Park and Gledswood Hills contain substantial established and newer residential development, while Catherine Field and Leppington continue to undergo major housing and infrastructure growth. Cobbitty, Bringelly and Rossmore retain a much stronger semi-rural character.
This creates a ward where Arborist Reports can range from assessment of one mature residential tree to tree surveys covering substantial development sites.
Which Report Do You Need?
Greenfield Growth, Subdivision & Semi-Rural Landscapes
Oran Park is one of Camden's major master-planned centres, with continuing residential, commercial, school and infrastructure development. Gledswood Hills continues to experience residential and mixed-use development as part of the same growth corridor.
Catherine Field and Leppington are undergoing substantial change as new residential precincts replace former rural land uses.
On larger development sites, arboricultural work may involve tree identification and survey, DBH and canopy measurement, retention-value assessment, Tree Protection Zone and Structural Root Zone mapping, subdivision-layout impacts, road and service conflicts, trees proposed for removal, Tree Protection Plans, and Project Arborist supervision.
Cobbitty, Bringelly and Rossmore present a different environment again, with larger properties, mature scattered trees and remnant rural landscapes.

Camden Council Tree Guidelines in North Ward
Camden's protected-tree thresholds apply throughout North Ward. Larger sites can also involve biodiversity, riparian or other environmental controls beyond individual-tree assessment.
Council requires AQF Level 5 expertise for hazard/tree-health reports and can request specialist investigation where more evidence is required.
Replacement planting: where Council approves private-tree removal, the permit can require up to four replacement trees for every tree removed. The permit specifies the requirements for the replacement tree or trees, including planting size and the mature height to be achieved, with species selection at the property owner's discretion.

Frequently Asked Questions
They can be. Larger development sites around Oran Park may need a Tree Survey and Arboricultural Impact Assessment covering many trees, with staged Tree Protection Plans that stay in place through civil and building works.
Yes. Higher-value trees identified early can influence road alignments, lot layouts, services and building envelopes. Assessing them before the subdivision layout is fixed is usually far cheaper than redesigning after lodgement.
Yes. Camden specifically recognises root investigation where further tree analysis is required. Non-destructive investigation shows where significant roots actually are, which can support design changes that allow a valuable tree to be retained.
Most trees do. A written Tree Permit is generally needed for a tree 3 metres or more high, with a trunk circumference of 300 mm (approximately 100 mm diameter) or more at 1 metre above ground, or with a branch span of 3 metres or more, unless an exemption applies. For standalone private-tree removal or pruning questions unrelated to development, Camden Council's Private Tree Facts page sets out the current application process, lodged via the NSW Planning Portal.
