Expert Arborist Reports Across Camden Central Ward
Following Council's 2023 ward boundary redistribution, Central Ward now includes Currans Hill, Gregory Hills, Mount Annan, Narellan Vale and Spring Farm.
The ward combines some of Camden's newer master-planned housing with established suburban neighbourhoods. Gregory Hills continues to experience residential and mixed-use development. Mount Annan, Currans Hill and Narellan Vale are more established. Spring Farm, now part of Central Ward, is a newer residential growth area.
Which Arborist Report Do You Need?
New Housing & Established Suburbs
Gregory Hills contains comparatively new residential areas but development has not finished. New buildings, childcare centres, commercial projects and residential intensification can still affect retained landscape trees.
Mount Annan contains established housing together with major open-space and landscape assets. Currans Hill and Narellan Vale have mature suburban landscapes where additions, pools and redevelopment can interact with established trees. Spring Farm contains newer residential development where retained landscape and neighbouring-tree considerations remain relevant as the area continues to build out.

Camden Council Tree Guidelines in Central Ward
Most protected trees meeting Camden's size criteria require approval before removal or significant pruning.
Council can request an AQF Level 5 consulting arborist where health, safety, roots or structural condition require more detailed analysis.
Replacement planting: where Council approves private-tree removal, the permit can require up to four replacement trees for every tree removed. The permit specifies the requirements for the replacement tree or trees, including planting size and the mature height to be achieved, with species selection at the property owner's discretion.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The report documents the tree's condition, defects, risk and any development impacts, giving Council the evidence it needs. Council will not approve removal simply to increase solar access, so the arboricultural reasons need to be clearly established.
Yes. Tree Protection Zone and root impacts can affect where a new building, pool or driveway can go. Identifying them before the design is fixed is usually far cheaper than redesigning after lodgement.
Yes. As a newer growth area, retained landscape trees and neighbouring-tree considerations remain relevant to ongoing development.
Most trees do. A written Tree Permit is generally needed for a tree 3 metres or more high, with a trunk circumference of 300 mm (approximately 100 mm diameter) or more at 1 metre above ground, or with a branch span of 3 metres or more, unless an exemption applies. For standalone private-tree removal or pruning questions unrelated to development, Camden Council's Private Tree Facts page sets out the current application process, lodged via the NSW Planning Portal.
