Robert de Jong founded Arbor Express after more than three decades in the Australian arboriculture industry. His career began in 1993 when he established Discount Tree Services, which grew to become Canberra's largest arborist company.
After selling the business in 2011, Robert established Arbor Express to focus exclusively on professional arboricultural consultancy. Today, the company provides expert advice and consulting services throughout Greater Sydney, Wollongong, the South Coast, Canberra, Queanbeyan and regional NSW, helping clients navigate complex council requirements with confidence.
As the business has grown, Robert's son Alex has become an integral part of the team, having worked alongside his father since his teenage years. A defining moment came during the devastating 2019-2020 bushfires, when the family witnessed firsthand the destruction of their local community. In response, Arbor Express provided free arborist reports to assist with the assessment and removal of thousands of damaged trees, helping communities begin the recovery process.
Today, Arbor Express is backed by a team of AQF Level 5 to Level 9 consulting arborists who combine decades of experience with practical, independent advice.
